What is an online booking link?
It is a web address just for your business, for example marcar.prontobiz.org/your-business. When a client opens it on their phone, they see your services, prices, staff and free times. They choose, leave their name and phone number, and the booking is done. No app to install, no account to create.
For you, the difference is big: instead of exchanging five or six messages to agree on a time, you receive a confirmed booking, at any hour of the day or night.
Why it is worth having one
- Clients book when it suits them, often in the evening or at the weekend, when your business is closed.
- You stop interrupting your work to answer the phone or WhatsApp in the middle of a service.
- No more double bookings or misunderstandings about the time, because everything is recorded in one place.
- Automatic reminders reduce no-shows. We cover this in detail in how to reduce client no-shows.
What a good booking link should include
- Services with duration and price, so the client knows what they are booking and how long it takes.
- A choice of staff member, if you work as a team.
- Only genuinely free times, with breaks and days off already taken out.
- Instant confirmation and reminders before the visit.
- An easy way to reschedule or cancel without calling you.
- Working well on a phone, because that is where almost every client will open it.
- Your name and branding, so the client recognises your business.
How to create your link in 6 steps
1. List your services
Write each service with a name clients understand, its real duration and its price. If a service varies a lot, use "from". Start with your 5 to 10 most popular services; you can add the rest later.
2. Set your hours
Enter the working days and hours for each person, lunch breaks and days off. If you need time between clients to clean or prepare, add an automatic gap between bookings.
3. Choose your rules
Decide how far ahead a client can book (for example, up to 2 hours before) and until when they can cancel. Write your policy in one simple sentence, for example: "Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance."
4. Pick a short address
The shorter and easier to read, the better: your business name, no numbers or symbols. This is the address you will share everywhere.
5. Test it as a client
Open the link on your phone and make a test booking. Check that you receive the confirmation, that the time appears in your calendar and that the reminder arrives. Ask a friend to do the same and to be honest.
6. Share the link where your clients already are
- Instagram: in your bio and highlights, with a line like "Book here".
- WhatsApp Business: in your profile description and automatic greeting message.
- Google: in your Google Business Profile, in the bookings field. This adds a "Book" button right in Search and Maps.
- At the counter: a printed QR code, so clients can book their next visit before they leave.
- In your email signature and on your website.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Showing times that are not free. If the link is not connected to your real calendar, you will get overlapping bookings.
- Technical service names clients do not understand.
- Hiding the link. If it is only on your website, hardly anyone finds it. Put it on Instagram, WhatsApp and Google.
- Still booking by message "just this once". Reply with the link: within two weeks, clients get used to it.
Do it yourself or get help
You can create the link yourself with a booking tool, but setting it up (services, hours, rules and reminders) usually takes a few hours. At ProntoBiz we do it all for you in one working day: you get your online booking link ready to share, with automatic confirmations and reminders. See our plans and pricing or how it works.
